Fine Art

Based on a Simple Philosophy

I’m a retired businessman who took up painting late in life and hangs out most days at a studio downtown we call the CLIMB.

My philosophy of painting is that there is something special to see in almost everything - contrasts between dark and light, shapes, colors that pop, the sublime way a line moves.  My understanding is that the creation of art is the beginning of a conversation between the artist and the observer about that “something special” the artist has seen.  I’m all about conversation.

As a consequence, when I paint I’m saying,

                                “Hey guys,  ...look at this!”
